I was in a bad marriage. My husband did not accept the kids from my previous marriage and he was really horrible to them.
I had a job, but it didn’t pay very much. And my husband refused to pay for anything other than the house and the utilities. I had to pay the debts, the accounts, the groceries, the school fees, petrol, everything, from my salary, which was about half of what he earned.
The financial strain got worse, and I ran out of credit. I had no more money.
And then my car broke donw. I could not repair it and my husband had to take me to work. At first I was humiliated, and angry with God. How could He not provide?
Later I realised … He did. I did not have money for petrol. With my car broke, my husband had to drive me to work. No need for petrol.
He cares for us – just because it’s not how we saw the solution, doesn’t mean there isn’t one.
